Skills
A skill is a set of text instructions that guides the AI in your work: how to build a report, which steps to follow in an analysis, what tone to use in an email. A skill does not grant new access to the computer or your accounts; it guides the AI to use what it can already use.
Where they live
Section titled “Where they live”Open Customize and choose the Skills tab. There you find:
- My skills: the ones already in Studio, with each one’s origin (Created by you, SquadOS, Codex, Claude, and others) and its Active or Disabled state;
- Community: ready-made skills, organized by role (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, People, Research), to add to Studio.
Use the search and the origin and status filters to find a skill. On each one, Read instructions shows the full text before you use it.
Use a skill
Section titled “Use a skill”- In the conversation, type
/and choose the skill by name. - In the library, click Use (or Add and use, for a Community skill that is not in Studio yet). Studio prepares the prompt with the skill and you complete the request.
Active skills can also be chosen by the AI itself when the request matches them.
Create a skill
Section titled “Create a skill”Click Create skill and write the name, the description, and the instructions. You can also ask in the conversation: describe what the skill should do, and Studio writes it with you.
Turn on and off
Section titled “Turn on and off”Disable a skill so it stops being used without deleting it; enable it again whenever you want. Skills marked as required for SquadOS to work cannot be turned off.
A skill can also be the Owner of a schedule: it is called at the start of every run.
