Documents, spreadsheets, and presentations
Studio creates work files in your folder and opens an editor so you can review and adjust what it made.
What would you like to create?
Section titled “What would you like to create?”The What would you like to create? screen gathers the starting points:
- Create document, Create spreadsheet, and Create a presentation;
- Create a website, Develop a web app, Develop an app, and Develop a game;
- Work, for any other request.
Choose an option and describe what you need. You can also Start with a template, Start blank, or look for inspiration in Prompts and Explore the possibilities.
Studio saves the file in the conversation’s working folder. If no folder is chosen, it asks for one before saving.
Document
Section titled “Document”The document editor has word-processor formatting: font, size, and color, bold, italic, headings, alignment, lists, quotes, and tables. To take the document elsewhere, use Export Word (.docx) or Export HTML.
Spreadsheet
Section titled “Spreadsheet”The spreadsheet editor opens XLSX and CSV files, with sheets (Add sheet, rename and move sheets).
- If the spreadsheet has features the editor does not support (macros, external links, pivot tables, charts, or incompatible formulas), the original stays protected. To edit, use Create editable copy: the copy removes those features, and incompatible formulas become their saved values.
- To edit a CSV with formatting, Studio creates an XLSX copy.
Presentation
Section titled “Presentation”Presentations open in the slide viewer, with thumbnails and navigation between slides. To change the content, ask in the conversation.
When the file changes outside Studio
Section titled “When the file changes outside Studio”The editor saves on its own (Saved). If the file is changed in another program while it is open, Studio warns you and asks which version to keep, in Resolve conflict.
