Hub — Overview

The Hub is the internal area of SquadOS: the place where people in your organization talk to each other and to the agents. It’s separate from the admin panel, where agents are created and configured.

On the left edge sits the rail, always visible, with the product’s four areas:

  • Rooms — group conversations by topic, with people and agents together. See Rooms.
  • Agents — one-on-one chat with each agent in the organization, with history per conversation.
  • Direct — private conversations between two people in the organization.
  • Admin panel — where agents, bases, inboxes, and the rest are set up.

The rail shows a counter when there are unread messages in rooms or direct conversations, and switches between areas without losing what you were doing.

Admins use both: the panel to configure, the Hub for testing and for day-to-day work with the team.

Every active agent in the organization already shows up in the Agents area, with no setup at all — you don’t need to connect any channel to talk to it internally. Each conversation keeps its own history, and you can switch agents mid-conversation.

It’s the fastest way to test a freshly built agent before exposing it to customers.

  • User and attendant work in the Hub. Attendants also reach Conversations and Contacts in the panel, to handle external channels.
  • Collaborator and above see the full admin panel.

The capability-by-role table is in Users and roles.

Your avatar menu, top right, leads to Settings: sign-in details and password under Profile, light/dark theme under Preferences, and — if you’re an admin — the organization’s settings. See User settings.

If you belong to more than one organization, use the selector at the top of the sidebar. See Multiple organizations.
