Quick Start

This is the shortest path from zero to an agent replying in chat.

After signing in with your email and password at /admin/auth, an account with admin access opens Home. The dashboard summarizes total agents and active users, as well as conversations and credits for the current month.

The sidebar organizes the available areas into groups such as Agents and CRM. Items vary with your permissions and the features enabled for the organization; for this initial journey, look for My Agents and Inboxes.

At the top, a guide shows only the next available action: Create your first agent, Your agent is ready to chat, or, after the first reply, the optional suggestion to connect an inbox. You can dismiss the last suggestion with Not now.

Open My Agents and click New Agent. Enter the Agent name, choose an Initial category when required, and confirm with Create Agent.

After creation, SquadOS opens the editor. On desktop screens, AgentMaker also opens automatically to guide your first prompt.

The editor starts in the Prompt section. You can work in two ways:

  • Chat with AgentMaker to improve the prompt’s clarity, structure, and guardrails.
  • Click Edit Prompt to open the manual editor and write the instructions directly.

Save your changes before testing. If changes are pending, the test panel explains that it is using the saved version and offers Save and test.

In the editor header, click Test Agent. The test opens in an integrated panel on the same screen — next to the editor on desktop and as a side panel on smaller screens.

Adjust the prompt and test again until you’re happy.

This step is optional. Open Inboxes, click Connect inbox, and choose a channel. Options include Public page, Widget, Telegram, Instagram Direct, API, and WhatsApp through a QR code, the official API, or compatible providers.

Complete the channel setup and choose your agent as the inbox destination. The wizard then opens the schedule and routing settings.

From that point on, messages received by that inbox follow the configured destination. See Inboxes.
