Initial progress

SquadOS shows a short guide on Home to take the organization from its first agent to a real conversation. The guide presents one next action at a time, based on what the organization has completed and the permissions of the signed-in person.

The current three steps

1. Create your first agent

While the organization has no agent, Home shows Create your first agent and the Create agent button. The button opens Agents, where you define at least the name, prompt, and model before saving.

2. Talk to your agent

After the agent is created, the guide changes to Your agent is ready. Select Talk to your agent to open the Hub and check how it responds. If the response needs adjustment, return to the agent editor, refine the configuration, save, and test again.

3. Connect an inbox if needed

After the agent responds in the Hub, the guide offers Bring your agent to other channels. This step is optional:

  • select Connect inbox to open the inbox setup already directed to the agent; or
  • select Not now to dismiss the suggestion.

An inbox is needed only when the agent should serve users through a public page, widget, Telegram, WhatsApp, Instagram, or API. Creating the agent and validating the first conversation already completes the primary initial flow.

When the guide appears

The guide is shared in the organization context: it considers existing agents, conversations, and inboxes instead of asking each member to repeat the process.

Actions also respect the signed-in person’s permissions. Someone without access to create agents, open the Hub, or configure inboxes may therefore see a different step or no guide. The guide disappears when no action is available, when an inbox is already connected, or when the optional suggestion is dismissed.

What about the previous Squad Progress page?

Older organizations may still reach the legacy Squad Progress route from a bookmark or direct link. It preserves historical XP, levels, quests, and achievement data, but it does not appear in the current navigation and is not part of the current onboarding flow.

Do not use the legacy route as an operational checklist: some achievement text may still mention old interface paths. To configure channels, use Inboxes; to validate an agent while editing it, use the test panel in the agent editor; and when the post-creation guide asks for a conversation, use the Hub.
